‘Volleyball Empress’ Kim Yeon-kyung (Heungkuk Life) credits her teammates for her seventh career round MVP.

Heungkuk Life won its home match against Pepper Savings Bank 3-0 (25-16, 25-22, 25-17) in three sets in the third round of the Dodram 2023-2024 V League Women’s Division at Samsan World Gymnasium in Incheon on Friday.

Heungkuk Sinsaeng ace Kim Yeon-kyung led the way in the shutout victory with 17 points, the second-most on the team, including three blocks. Her attack success rate reached 51.85%, higher than Yelena’s 19 points.

After the match, Kim said, “In the second round, my preparation didn’t go well. I reviewed those things and analyzed my opponent a lot, and that part worked well. In particular, my blocking defense was good and my serve was well-targeted. In many ways, we knew our opponent better than in the last game, so it worked out well.”

On the ups and downs of Heungkuk Sinsaeng this season, he said, “We had some ups and downs today, but overall, I think it was a good performance. In the second round against Pepper Savings Bank, we had a difficult game because we had too many ups and downs. We’ve been winning this season, but we’ve had some ups and downs. It’s something we need to work on a little bit more.”

Leader Heungkuk Life extended Pajuk’s winning streak to nine games with the result and widened the gap to second-place Hyundai E&C to four points. They are now 12-1-1 on the season with 33 points.

Kim Yeon-kyung said, “I can’t not care about Hyundai E&C. “It’s good for us to not lose as many points as possible. That’s why we try to focus on every game. Hyundai E&C has been playing well lately, so we can’t let them off the hook.”

On the second day of the Dodram 2023-2024 V-League Second Round MVP voting, Kim received 11 out of 31 votes to win her seventh round MVP award in her career.

According to the Korea Volleyball Organization (KOVO), “Kim scored 135 points in the second round, ranking eighth in scoring (first among domestic players), seventh in attack with a 41.03% attack success rate (first among domestic players), and sixth in serving with an average of 0.2 per set, contributing to Heungkuk Saengsam’s second-round sweep as the team’s ace.”

“My personal record was better in the first round, but I 메이저토토사이트 received the MVP in the second round,” said Kim Yeon-kyung, who was awarded the MVP of the day. “I think I was able to receive it because the team won the entire match, so I am very grateful to my teammates. I think I should take a shot,” she said with humility.

Heungkuk Life will try to win their 10th consecutive game against GS Caltex at home on the 9th.
