Alka Yagnik

Born on 20 March 1966 in Kolkata, Alka began her career singing bhajans for Akashwani (All India Radio) at the age of 6. She sang her first song for the movie “Payal Ki Jhankar” in 1980 and soon got recognised by famous artists of Bollywood. 2 National Film Awards, and 2 Bengal Journalists’ Association Awards were won by Yagnik. Alka also won the Filmfare Awards for a record 7 times for being the best female playback singer with a record 36 nominations. Along with Hindi, she has sung Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Malayalam, Marathi, and many other songs. The famous singer Alka Yagnik recorded songs for more than a thousand films and was recognised as the most streamed artist in 2022 with 15.3 billion YouTube views.

Sonu Nigam

Sonu Nigam was born in Faridabad city of Haryana on 30 July 1973. He started his career with the song ‘Hum To Chhaila Ban Gaye’ for the TV serial “Talash” in 1992 and sang the first film song “O Aasma Wale” for the ‘Aaja Meri Jaan Movie’ in 1993. Apart from Hindi, Sonu recorded Maithili, Kannada, Nepali, Punjabi, Urdu, and other songs. Also known as the modern Rafi, Sonu was awarded by Padma Shri, 1 National Award, 2 Filmfare Awards, and 2 Filmfare Awards South. Recognised by the media as one of the most popular and successful male singers, Sonu won IIFA Awards 4 times. For Jal soundtrack composed by him and recorded by Sonu and Bikram Ghosh, Sonu was nominated for the Oscar Academy Awards in 2014. 

Jubin Nautiyal

Jubin Nautiyal was born in Dehradun on 14 Jun 1989 and participated in the music reality show X Factor in 20011. Unfortunately, the judges rejected him. Indian playback singer and performer Jubin debuted with the ‘Ek Mulakat’ song for the movie “Sonali Cable”. In June 2022, Jubin won the IIFA award for the best playback singer (male) for the song “Raatan Lambiyan”. In the 8th Mirchi Music Awards, Jubin was awarded Upcoming Male Vocalist of the Year. Jubin also won a Rising Musical Star Award at the Zee Business Awards. In 2017 Jubin won the Best Singer award at the ITA Awards for Tu Sooraj Mai Saanjh Piyaji Song. 

Neha Kakkar

Neha Kakkar was born in Rishikesh of Uttarakhand on 6 June 1988. At the age of 4, Neha started to sing in local gatherings and religious events. After coming to Delhi in the 1990s, Neha participated in the second season of Indian Idol. Unfortunately, Neha got rejected. As a chorus singer in ‘Meerabai Not Out’ film, Neha debuted in Bollywood and was recognised for the dance track “Second Hand Hawani” of the Cocktail movie in 2012. In 2017, Neha won the Best Duet Vocalist award for Patt Lainge song at the 4th PTC Punjabi Music Awards. Neha also won a Bollywood Track of the Year award for Dilbar song from Satyamev Jayate movie at the 10 Mirchi Music Awards. 

Arijit Singh

Arijit Singh was born in Jiagan, Murshidabad, West Bengal on 25 April 1987 and participated in Fame Gurukul named music show. During the show, filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali recognised his talent and requested to sing the “Yun Shabnam” song for the Saavariya movie. The song was never released, but Arijit kept up his hard work. Arijit became famous for the songs of Aashiqui 2. Singh received 5 Mirchi Music Awards, 7 Filmfare Awards, 1 Stardust Award, 5 IIFA Awards, 5 Zee Cine Awards and 4 Screen Awards. In September 2014, Singh was honoured with the Youth Icon Music Award by The National Indian Students Union UK.
