Sage Not Responding errors can be extremely disruptive when you are trying to run your business. If the Sage 50 or Sage 200 application hangs or freezes when attempting to access company files or complete accounting tasks, there are a few troubleshooting techniques you should try.

If the Sage window is completely unresponsive, the first step is to force quit the software:
- On Windows, press Ctrl + Alt + Del to open Task Manager and select the Sage process. Click “End Task”.
- On Mac, click the Apple menu and select Force Quit. Choose the Sage application and select Force Quit.
After closing out the non-responding Sage application, reboot your machine and try launching Sage again to see if that resolved the hanging issue.
Refresh Underlying Data Connections
If force quitting did not resolve the not responding errors, try refreshing connections:
- For SQL data sources, validate connections in Database Administration.
- For Pervasive databases, remove and re-add data source connections.
This can clear up any stalled communication issues between Sage and connected data.
